Course maps may be viewed here. Course maps are sent along with confirmation letters to each team's captain before the race.

Gap2Gap Course
Teams consist of 2 to 5 participants.

  1. Fjeld Run: 2 miles: The race starts at Sarg Hubbard Park. This leg entails running over rough, uneven ground.

  2. Mountain Bike:12 miles: This non-technical course is on rough, rocky river dike; canal banks; dirt roads; and unimproved areas with steep hills. Goatheads are prevalent on the course. Much of the course is on private property and is not open for practice. ANSI helmet required. No drafting.

  3. Boat 8 miles: Participants may use a kayak or a canoe on the class 1 & 2 water of this leg. Knowledge of the river and river boating is essential.


  4. Road Bike: 20 miles: The course remains north of Highway 24 for the entire duration. Motor vehicles will be on the course. The rules of the
    road MUST be followed. ANSI approved helmets are required. No drafting.

  5. Run: 6.2 miles: South on the Greenway Path from Sarg Hubbard Park.

Release Times All road bikers will be released at 10:45 AM & all runners will be released at 12:00.

Sport Gap2Gap Course
Teams consist of 2 to 5 participants.

  1. Fjeld Run 2 miles: The race starts at Sarg Hubbard Park. This leg entails running over rough, uneven ground.

  2. Mountain Bike 8 miles: This non-technical course is on rough, rocky river dike; canal banks; dirt roads; and unimproved areas. Goatheads are prevalent on the course. ANSI helmet required. No drafting.

  3. Skate 6.2 miles: This leg is on the Greenway Path and there will be two way traffic in parts. Racers are to stay to the right on the pathway except when passing. Wrist pads and an ANSI approved helmet are required. Elbow and knee pads are highly recommended.

  4. Road Bike 20 miles: The course remains north of Highway 24 for the entire duration. Motor vehicles will be on the course. The rules of the road MUST be followed. ANSI approved helmets are required. No drafting.

  5. Run 3.1 miles: South on the Greenway Path from Sarg Hubbard Park.

Release Times All sport skaters will be sent down the course at 9:45 AM, all road bikers will be released at 10:45 AM & all runners will be released at 12:00.

Junior Gap2Gap Course
Teams consist of 2 to 5 participants. Age group determined by age on race day and the oldest team member.
  1. Run Ages 8-12 will run a total of 1 mile. Ages 13-14 will run 3 miles. The course runs north on the Greenway Path from Sarg Hubbard Park. Runners stay to the right on pathway.

  2. Bike The course runs south along the pathway. Distances are approximately 2 1/2 miles for ages 8-12 and 6 miles for ages 13-14. ANSI approved helmets are required.

  3. In-line Skate This leg will include both technical and speed components. Participants may use either traditional roller skates or in-line skates. Ages 13-14 will circle twice. Skaters must wear wrist, elbow, and knee pads and an ANSI approved helmet.

  4. Water Course The course is run on the Reflection Pond located at Robertson Amphitheatre. Ages 8-12 circle the course once and ages 13-14 will circle twice. The course will be marked with buoys. Boats and paddles will be provided to all participants by the Gap2Gap. Wearing of a US Coast Guard type I or III PFD and ANSI approved helmet is mandatory. PFDs must remain on until after the exchange is complete.

  5. Obstacle Course Contained within Sarg Hubbard Park. Ages 8-12 will go through a shorter version of the obstacle course compared to what the 13-14 year old participants will have to negotiate. No cleated or spiked shoes. Feet will get wet.
