Free Family Field Day
Saturday May 7, 2011

What a great day, and if you missed it, you should ask someone that made it how much fun it was! It is amazing that it is free. Family Field Day is presented by Subway Restaurants and is a collaborative effort of the CWU Dietetic Internship, FitKids USA and The Yakima Greenway Foundation. A huge thanks to the Catholic Credit Union for supporting the event and having Kirby Kangaroo come out for the day. We also appreciate the photos that were published in the YHR, which captured some of the great fun that was had by all.
Combining fun activities for the entire family with nutritional ways of improving your health is a natural. Less than 50 participated the first year, this year 930 registered. What a great kick off for the Kiddin’ Around program, a summer-long activity program for kids and their parents.
See you at next year’s Family Field Day!.

Family Field Day is a great Day to practice for the Jr. Gap2Gap for both the Kayak
and the obstacle course.
Family
Field day brings three great organization together to help promote nutrition,
fitness and ways of playing together as a family. The local Dietetics
Association, FitKids, and the Yakima Greenway Foundation provide several
fun events that tie nutrition and healthy lifestyles with fitness and well
being. There are many activities like the Kayak/Canoe, tennis, hula
hoops, jump rope, soccer, an excellent obstacle course and an unbelievable
game of tag. This event is for all ages and we encourage families to
come together so they can learn and play together.

Central Washington University Dietetic Internship
The Yakima Greenway Foundation would like to thank Kathleen Goyette and Tom Kelleher from Fit Kids USA and Linda Cashman from the CWU Dietetic Interns for their endless energy and amazing creativity to help make and continue our Family Field Day Event.
