Cheers to another very successful
and memorable A Case of the
Blues and All That Jazz 2009. We
enjoyed a music-filled day, sipped
some fabulous local wines and
microbrews, and caught up with
old friends in one of Yakima’s
most beautiful green spaces at Sarg
Hubbard Park. Thank You to U.S.
Cellular for being the presenting
sponsor of this event, Washington
Fruit Company and Lee Peterson
Motors/Jaguar as corporate sponsors
and everyone else who contributed to
or attended the event. The memories
of this year’s event are still fresh in
our minds but we are already hard
at work planning next year’s event.
With the current economic climate in
mind, we have plans for some very
exciting changes.
First of all, for the first year ever,
we are offering a $35 pre-sale
ticket available until February 28,
2010. Following February 28th, the
admission price will be $40 and day
of event tickets will remain at $45.
Tickets make an excellent stocking
stuffer, employee gift, Valentine
Day present, family and friend’s
gift, hair stylist gift, and the list
goes on. Let’s get those tickets out
early and begin spreading the word
to reserve August 21, 2010 for A
Case of the Blues 2010. Secondly,
we will offer 10 seats at Jazz VIP
tables and 8 seats
and 2 additional
tickets when you
purchase a Blues
VIP table. Blues
VIP tables are
$600 and Jazz
Tables are $1,200.
We are featuring
this change as
our “recession
special” this year
to help make
the tables more
affordable. So
think about
pitching in for a
Blues table with
your friends or having your business
sponsor a Jazz table. With a VIP
table you get a home base, numerous
benefits, program recognition and
you get to lend support to this
wonderful fundraiser.
Remember, the dollars gained
from this event go back into our
community. The proceeds are
split evenly between the Yakima
Greenway and Junior League of
Yakima. The proceeds go to support
Greenway’s mission to conserve,
enhance and maintain the Yakima
Greenway and to support Junior
League of Yakima’s mission of
promoting voluntarism, developing
the potential of women, and
improving the community. Please
get involved, spread the word, and
help us make A Case of the Blues
and All That Jazz 2010 the most
successful year yet. If you haven’t
been in a few years, try to get a
group of friends together and come
to the event again for the first time.
You may be surprised at how the
event has changed over the years
and how it still creates a day to
remember while you support your
favorite non-profit organizations.
